Cat Jenga

Here we see the Chameleon Cat (a native to the Clapton Pond area) in its natural environment. Whenever this clever animal senses danger or indeed has spent too long chasing flies amongst the tomato plants, he will quite convincingly pretent to fall fast asleep and adopt the pattern of his environment. This astonishingly effective evolutionary defense mechanism can only be broken by opening a pre-packed sachet of jellied chicken cubettes or dangling a tape measure in front of his face.

A New Party-Goer

My Mum got this little guy today, and he's got a lot of party in him!

He's called Roo, he's 8 weeks old and comes from a farm in Beenham. So far we've learnt he likes the sun, carrying wool in his mouth and playing with drawer knobs. He hasn't met the other cat Meg, so this Cat Party hasn't quite started yet. Time for a snooze next to some string...

Warm furry welcome

We have here Lenny as he came to welcome me back whilst I was unpacking from my Ghanian expedition, (yes that is a real newspaper headline).

Tree Hugger II: Lenny Strikes Again

Climbing trees is becoming a bit of hobby for little Lennazoid.

Killer Snags

Proof that Snagarelli is a lean, mean killing machine.

He's not normally a hunting kinda cat, but now that Dexy has upped and left, Snags has taken over the cold blooded killin' round these parts.

He ain't about to let no mouse come in his territory and live to tell the story.

Good boy.

Willy

Belongs to my Spanish friend Lucia, who is also rather handy with a camera. Can't wait to meet him.

Stuntcat Fresh!

Lucifer does a powerslide into sheepskin. The beginning of promising career in the stuntworld. Dad is proud...

New Cat on the block

Dexy is our cat (front of shot), but check out his look alike, he's a big fluff bag too. Don't know much about this new cat on the block yet, but hopefully we will do.
Then after a bit Chicken comes along to investigate.
After a while all three just chill together, lying down in the sun etc.

To be honest I think they are all waiting for the pool to be filled, they are all desperate for a little paddle, this heat must be a difficult time if you are covered head to toe in furr!!

I got shouted at a lot for taking this picture.

Top Cat Nominations from May Announced!!!

Cat Party Admin are pleased to announce that this month's 'Top Cat' competition is now OPEN!!!

Belle - our winner from last month has taken on the task of curating the top posts from May ... we hear that she had a tough time compiling her top ten as Drools continually slobbered all over the lists being drawn up.

Belle has sent us in this photo of Drools doing his thing with the prize winning cup.

The winner of this month's competition will also receive a 'Top Cat' mug, however this will be the last one that we award (for now)...

We have decided that this will be the last Top Cat Post of the Month competition for a little while now .... perhaps the last ever.

We've had a meeting at CP HQ and have decided that the comp has become a little stale.

We're going to take a summer break and think up some new ideas and new ways of exploring cat-based blog excitement.

(If anyone has any suggestions or ideas then please post them in the comments section of this post.)

SO ... for the last time until further notice:

Please glance your eyes to the right hand side to see which posts (and which furry beasts) made the grade.

GET VOTING!!!

Spread the word, obey the rules, and please ... keep it furry

Los Angeles guard cats

Was walking home in the early hours of Sunday morning through Echo Park when I happened upon these four weirdos (they're cats, I assure you). Every time I tried to get near for a photo, they'd run off up towards that door, then come straight back to exactly the same spots once I backed away. Their glowing eyes kind of freaked me out a bit. A little further on I found this cool bit of art too. It was all a bit strange.

A predicament.

This is where Tony genuinely got himself wedged.
Just chilling in a gazebo box like a boss.
I don't know how or why. He is very mysterious...yet very predictable.
If there is a box-he will get in it. His motives are questionable.

Cat Pap: Montague Rd E8

Hello!
This is my first post, so I guess introductions are in order...

We've been a cat household since I can remember, but these guys are a fairly new addition to the family. They'll be three years old this month!

Mario

Likes: Anything edible (really...he'll eat anything), belly rubs, sleeping on things he's been told not to sleep on, acting like a Mafia don and defending his turf, gazing out of windows.
Dislikes: People knocking on the front door, pollen (he gets hayfever), when younger cats question his authority.

Yoshi

Likes: Sleeping in empty bins, fluff, chasing flies (and his tail when he thinks no one's looking), high five-ing.
Dislikes: Heights, most other cats, when you leave a brother hanging, shoes...and generally anything slightly loud or scary.

Oh, and I'm Flo. :)

this beast of a tom cat frequently finds himself in my garden, he is clearly totally in love with purrsephone but she's not having any of it. one night, purrsephone was sitting (inside) at the patio doors, yowling like mad. ginge was sitting there gazing at her, completely besotted. purrsephone obviously wasn't happy, so i threw a glass of water over him. i completely drenched him and felt SO guilty, but he hastily left our garden. the next evening, as I was leaving my house, he appeared to have forgiven me and after a little sesh of chinny-chin-chin, whilst i fumbled in my bag for my camera, he sauntered off.

Salty Sea Mogs

My friend lives on a houseboat at the incredible Downings Moorings, and I saw a few fine feline inhabitants....

This fine fellow jumped from ship to ship....

And this little lady proudly and picturesquely guarded her owners place. She leapt over to say hello but only liked talking, no stroking.

Bonjour!

I went to France last week and encountered this furry beast. After calling him "Willy" for several days in my loudest English accent I was informed by his owner that his name was actually Woody. Un faux-pas...

He had a tendency to drool (a lot) if over excited and also spent a large portion of each evening busting in and out of my tent despite efforts to blockade him out in the pursuit of a whole nights sleep.

Tents are not cat proof.

Double tummy rub

Skillz.
