hi everyone i'm sarah, and this is jasmine and leela. (aka jammy and leels. jim-jams and lee-loo. colin and james). back in january 2009 when we first decided to adopt some cats (before this we kept rats) we wanted to rescue them from a shelter but i was interviewed over the phone and told we were unsuitable cat owners as we both worked full-time! phoning around several cat shelters they all said the same thing. sadly my boss didn't appreciate the concept of caternity leave so we decided to take matters in our own hands and rescue them from a polish couple in Reading instead. they are litter sisters and this photo was taken when they were about 7 weeks old.

soon after we brought the kittens home i found i was pregnant, so for the first 9 months of their lives they were our practise babies, until we had a human baby in september 2009, and now they are big sisters to our daughter, alex.

will leave it at that for now, more photos and cat stories to come!

  1. yes they get along with alex??

    they both are beautiful x

  2. they were a bit put-out for the first couple of weeks, didn't see much of them - i think they were hoping the baby was just visiting!! but they're used to her now. they're so stubborn about certain things, if they're sleeping in the same room that alex is crying really loudly, you'll see their ears twitching and they look really moody, but they won't move to another room! haha.
